Training for Students in Healthcare/Social Care Disciplines
Target participants
Prospective professionals including social work students (studying in a programme leading to the award of the social work qualification) and students of other disciplines relevant to end-of-life care.
* Priorities will be given to final year students.
Objectives
- To integrate the EoLC knowledge into social work practice context
- To increase the general EoLC practice skills of the participants
- To build the confidence in supporting people with EoLC and their family
Contents
This training is developed from the JCECC Project End-of-Life Care Core Competency Framework with seven competency domains which are commonly shared by all health and social care professionals in providing quality EoLC. It is built on top of the Basic Module of the JCECC Community Psychosocial End-of-Life Care professional online training course. Participants will be equipped with necessary EoLC knowledge and skills to provide holistic assessment and general care to end-of-life patients and their families. Participants will learn through role-play/discussion/activities in the course.
Format
Participants have to complete the Basic Module of the JCECC Community Psychosocial End-of-Life Care professional online training course as the prerequisite followed by several Zoom or Face-to-face tutorials.
Language
Cantonese supplemented with English.
